When I sat down with Ansh Kanwar, Chief Product Officer at Reltio, the conversation began with something deceptively simple: names. Even the pronunciation of his company—“Reltio, like relationships”—underscored the core of what his work is about: connecting data, people, and systems in ways that matter.
“Reltio is about data unification,” he explained. “We’re able to bring lots of different first-party data together for large enterprises. And let’s just start with the problem—that data lives in silos.”
Every engineer has felt that pain. Systems don’t talk. Records get duplicated. Data pipelines break under the weight of scale. And as Ansh pointed out, the challenge only multiplies as organizations race to build AI-powered agents. “If you don’t solve the data problem first, the agent problem becomes impossible.”
That struck a chord. In the last few months alone, we’ve seen agents hit walls—not because their reasoning capabilities were weak, but because the underlying data was inconsistent or incomplete. It reminded me of debugging an early project where the model worked beautifully in theory but fell apart when it had to reconcile three conflicting sources of truth.
Ansh’s vision flips the script. Rather than forcing AI to fight through messy infrastructure, unify the data layer and let the intelligence scale from there. “The future of agents isn’t just about prompts and models—it’s about bridging the data chasm, so they can operate with accuracy and trust.”
That word—trust—came up often. He sees trust not as a buzzword but as an engineering requirement. “Without trustworthy data, you can’t have trustworthy AI.”
It’s a perspective builders and enterprise architects need to hear. The allure of agentic AI is real. But as Ansh reminds us, the foundations matter. Get the data right, and the rest follows.
Ansh Kanwar will be expanding on this vision in his keynote at The AI Conference 2025. Don’t miss his session on how to bridge the data chasm for the agents of the future—and if you want a preview, you can watch our full conversation on our Youtube page.
