When the EU’s Digital Services Act (DSA) came into effect, most platforms scrambled to retrofit reporting capabilities. At TikTok, I led the development of the Aggregated Metrics Database (AMD) — a centralized, queryable system designed to power transparency dashboards, internal audits, and regulatory disclosures.

This talk shares the story of AMD: how we defined what to measure, standardized metrics across complex systems, and built the trust infrastructure behind a VLOP-scale platform.

I’ll explore how we translated legal obligations into usable data products, balanced flexibility with accountability, and created systems that support both compliance and long-term credibility.
