Bhanu Prakash Reddy Rella is a visionary AI leader, sustainability advocate, and Lead Software Engineer at Walmart, with over a decade of experience designing cloud-native, large-scale AI and data platforms across GCP, Azure, and AWS. He is the founder of the Green AI Initiative, a movement focused on environmentally responsible AI development through methods like knowledge distillation, federated learning, model pruning, and sparse neural networks.

Bhanu’s mission is to bridge the gap between AI performance and sustainability by aligning advanced ML systems with ESG goals and climate accountability. His work empowers enterprises to reduce the carbon and water footprint of AI infrastructure without sacrificing scalability or accuracy.

He has spoken at global conferences such as IEEE Cloud Summit 2025, ICMCTC, and AI Week, and regularly mentors and judges hackathons focused on AI for social and environmental impact. He is also the author of the forthcoming book Green Data Engineering: Sustainable Practices for Energy-Efficient AI.

Bhanu holds a Master’s in Management Information Systems, a Bachelor’s in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA), deepening his leadership at the intersection of technology, sustainability, and strategy.
